Is Florence an old city where you can only see frescoes and ancient artworks? Not at all! Clet is a talented French street artist who is known for modifying Florence’s street signs in a satirical way. Join one of Clet’s assistants for a guided visit to his creative world. • We’ll meet at Clet’s iconic statue on the Ponte alle Grazie and take a short walk to CLETstudio. There is artwork in every corner, including modified street signs, stickers, and sculptures in motion. • I’ll show you around the studio, sharing insights into Clet’s artistic process, his inspirations, and his approach to infusing urban spaces with humor. • Next, you’ll choose one of his drawings, and I’ll guide you through a sticker-printing demonstration to bring one of the designs to life. Not only is there a chance you’ll see Clet working on his latest projects, you’ll walk away from this insider's tour of his studio with the sticker we’ve printed, signed by Clet. You’ll also have the opportunity to purchase Clet merchandising such as T-shirts or postcards for an extra cost.

Paint the Florence skyline from the terrace of the historic Palazzo Acciaiuoli, now the Hotel Torre Guelfa. The terrace is situated atop one of the city’s tallest towers, offering you breathtaking views of the city and its iconic monuments. • We’ll begin by walking around the tower so you can choose the right angle for your painting. • Then you’ll set to work! Unleash your creativity as you capture these stunning surroundings. (I’ll provide canvas and brushes as well as paints.) • Throughout the two-hour workshop, I’ll offer personal guidance on painting techniques. You’ll end the session with your very own painting of Florence to take home as a memento of your time in this beautiful, ancient city.

Design a Venetian silkscreen at a historic workshop

Welcome to Fallani Venezia, the workshop my father opened in the 1960s, which now serves as a hub for local and international artists to experiment with the age-old printing technique of serigraphy, or screen printing. • We’ll begin with a tour of the workshop and its history, and dive into the craft of artistic serigraphy. • I’ll walk you through the entire screen-printing process, from preparing the screen and mixing colors to transferring the image and drying the final print. • Roll up your sleeves and put your inner artist to work! You’ll create your own two-color print on two different colored papers, or on a tote bag or T-shirt. The Venice-inspired design you’ll print is created exclusively for our workshop by a local artist. When our day of artistic expression is done, I’ll mark the prints with our workshop’s embossing stamp as a memento of your time with us.

You’ll see tools in action, and observe the step-by-step process of shaping a sculpture. • Analyze works in progress and the creative choices behind them. Try your hand at basic techniques such as smoothing clay, making small carvings, and handling traditional tools. You’ll leave with new eyes and new experiences in your hand, an array of recommendations to how to look and keep exploring Florence’s sculptural heritage, and new appreciation for this enduring artistic tradition.
